Packing For Havasupai

So if you decided to hike to Havasu Falls, you probably already started to think about what you should take with you on your trip.  To help you to get an idea of what may be useful there, I decided to share our list of some of the things that were helpful during the trip.

You DON’T HAVE to buy exact same things if you don’t like or need them. This is our list and your list may vary. But I still hope it will be useful for some of you.

Coleman Sundome 2-Person Tent

Great inexpensive tent. Simple. Light. Easy to pack and easy to set up. 5 stars.

TETON Sports Explorer 4000 Internal Frame Backpack, Metallic Silver

Worked very well for a 25 mile hike (round trip). It has enough room to pack everything you need. High quality and lots of pockets 🙂 We loved it.

Salewa Women’s Wildfire S GTX Technical Approach Shoe, Black/Emerald

Hands down, these are my favorite. First of all, they are really good looking shoes. Boots provide amazing support for a low-cut shoe. They are very comfortable and simply do their job.  Perfect for hiking, rock climbing.

Teva Women’s Tirra Water Sandals

Necessary for swimming and walking in the river.  I love them because you can easily adjust them to fit perfect. I tested them in Havasu for 4 days = no blisters.

  1. Love reading about your trip-my daughter who is 20 and quite an adventurer wants our family of 4 to do this, but dumb question – do I have to stay and camp overnight or can I go down see the falls and come back?? You’re probably laughing at me that I’ll be so exhausted I won’t be able to hike back out and you’re probably right!😂
Would appreciate any comments thank you so much!!

    1. Hey Wendy! Just finished up my trip to havasupai and to answer your question…you need reservations. They do not allow day hikers. You will need to check in at the office to receive your bracelet before being allowed entrance to the campground ls

  2. I have not done any real hiking. However I am looking into taking this trip in the near future. As a new hiker, what tips can you give? What are the most important things for me to know? What foods do you bring? Etc.
